Terms of Service

Last updated — August 2026

Who we are

Stray Dog™ is an independent web studio based in Austin, Texas, a Solid Space company. These terms cover your use of this website and how our service works. If we sign a separate agreement or statement of work with you, that document prevails over anything written here.

Using this site

The site and its contents — text, design, imagery, and code — are ours or our clients', and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or reuse them without written permission. Don't probe, scrape, or disrupt the site or the client portal.

The service

We design and build custom websites, then keep them: hosting, SSL, security, backups, a CMS for your own edits, and a monthly allowance of update requests — all covered by one monthly fee. Plans and what they include are listed on the pricing page; the plan you sign up for, at the price agreed when you sign up, is the deal that applies to you.

Update requests are handled on business days — Monday to Friday, Central time. The monthly allowance is four updates per site; unused updates don't roll over. Outages and security issues sit outside your update count and are handled at every tier.

Fees and billing

Fees are billed monthly in advance, or annually where an annual price is agreed. If a price ever changes, we'll tell you in writing at least thirty days before it affects you — and never mid-term on an annual plan.

Your site and your domain

Your domain is yours from day one — registered in your name, in your account, no exceptions. The site itself is yours at twelve months: stay past a year, and if you ever leave, it leaves with you — files, content, everything, documented and intact. Leaving earlier, you may buy the site out for the remaining balance of the first twelve months, and it's yours either way.

Client accounts

Client logins are provisioned per project and per person. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe an account has been compromised.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you give us — copy, photography, logos, product information — and you confirm you have the right to use it. We use it only to build and run your site.

Intellectual property

Unless we agree otherwise in writing: we retain ownership of our working files, tooling, and pre-existing materials, and a licence to show the finished work in our portfolio once it is public. Ownership of the delivered site transfers as described above.

Ending the arrangement

You can cancel with written notice; the service runs to the end of the period you've paid for. We can end the arrangement with thirty days' written notice, or immediately if these terms are seriously breached. On exit we hand over your content and, where the ownership terms above are met, the site itself.

No warranties

The site and service are provided as-is. We work carefully, but we make no warranty that they will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes belong to the courts of Travis County, Texas.
